So proud of our church as you continue to Fast and pray. This morning I want to draw your attention to “FASTING UNTIL YOUR SPIRITUAL ARMOR FITS” Ephesians 6-10-17 says Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. It is an interesting concept to consider that a retired soldiers that does not keep his body fit will struggle to fit in his military uniform 25 years later. Do not forget that you are a solider in the army of God and you have been enlisted by the Commander in Chief of the armies of Heaven “Jesus Christ!” There is no retirement from the Army of Heaven until you leave this earth by way of the grave or the trumpet blast!! Therefore you are called to always be able to fit in your armor!!!We have spiritual armor that we must put on every single day that we might be able to stand against the wiles of the devil!!!! We could spend hours on this topic but here is the short version!!The belt of truth buckles easier in your life when you fast and pray and cut away the flesh and dismantle the lies of the enemy. You can not afford to be weighted down by the things of this world!! Your breastplate of righteousness comes over your chest easier when you fast and pray and stay in a right standing with God!! Your spiritual shoes fit your spiritual feet easier when you push the plate away through fasting and prayer!!! Your ability to hold up your shield of faith is easier when you starve out your unbelief through fasting and prayer!! Your helmet of Salvation covers your spiritual mind easier when your focus is on Jesus through fasting and prayer instead of on the things of this world! Lastly Fasting and prayer give you the spiritual strength to swing your Sword of the Spirit with authority and power!! Declaring the truth of Gods word becomes extremely heavy and difficult in a culture that seeks to defy it when the church does not fast and pray!! I’m afraid the message of Repentance is dying in America because God’s people are failing to fast and pray!!!!! Fasting and prayer becomes that time you set aside that reassures you are still spiritually fit enough to fit in the spiritual armor that God has given you!!!!!! We could elaborate more on each piece of armor and how it relates. But my prayer today is that we catch the revelation that cutting way the flesh positions us to receive what God said we can have!!!!! Remember prayer tonight at 6:30pm!!
